Plan for your future and secure that of your loved ones. It’s far better than ‘hoping for the best’ – and reassuring when you have a little help.
Figuring out your finances on your own can feel overwhelming, which is why we are here to support you. We are a professional financial planning company that gives you the assistance you need when it comes to being fully prepared for your future. As independent financial advisers, we understand the needs of people in the Bristol area, allowing us to help them make smarter investments over the years. We've got you covered!
Whether or not you have already mapped out your life plans and your financial ambitions, we will recommend a review of your current position. Our first discussion will take around an hour – at our expense. During this meeting we will assess your situation, your goals, your attitude to risk and your ethics around investment. We’ll ask you about your family and dependents, occupation and income, expenditure, assets, liabilities, debts, wills, inheritance and pension provision. You can then decide if we are the right people to help you. If you decide we can help, we will meet again to review your current arrangements and to start to develop short, medium and long-term strategies to meet your financial and lifestyle objectives. Only when we have a complete picture of your circumstances and attitudes will we make recommendations or give advice. Wherever possible we will aim to incorporate and maximise any current plans you have. We may also discuss a number of different scenarios to help you prioritise your objectives. Your life and future: a complete pictureWealth management can incorporate a number of discrete elements.
1. Investments and savings
Financial planning does not begin and end with investments and savings, but they’re a good place to start. We need to incorporate any planned expenditure (such as school fees) and make contingency for the unforeseen. Set Investment Objectives
Develop an Asset Allocation Plan
Evaluate and Select Investment Opportunities
Ongoing Portfolio Review
2. Protection
Life doesn’t always go according to plan, so you need to ensure you’re not disadvantaged by the financial consequences of unexpected events. Protection policies we can discuss and offer include: Income Protection (Permanent Health Insurance) Tax-free income if you become unable to work for an extended period. Life Assurance None of us is immortal! Could your family cope without you? Critical Illness Cover This policy will cover you and your family if you’re diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. It’s a huge weight off your mind at a time when you need to put your energies into recovery or make the most of the time you have left. Mortgage Protection Your mortgage is likely to be the biggest loan you ever have. Your home is probably your biggest asset but it can be at risk if you find yourself unable to keep up repayments. Protection policies can provide life cover (in the event that you unexpectedly pass away) and/or critical illness cover (if you are diagnosed with and survive one of a predetermined range of life-altering illnesses). Family Income Benefit These types of policy can offer you life cover and/or critical illness cover. Family income benefit will provide an ongoing income for your family. Whole of Life This insurance is payable in the event of the policy-holder’s death. You can use this type of policy in conjunction with inheritance tax planning, to the advantage of your family and inheritors. Private Medical Insurance (PMI) Avoid long NHS waiting lists and increase your chances of a quick or full recovery. 3. Retirement Planning A comfortable retirement is a dream for many people. Most of us appreciate the need to plan for our retirement and many contribute to pension plans. Legislation has changed significantly since 2006, most recently allowing flexible access to pensions for the over 55's and making pensions mandatory for employees, the staging dates for which have now been reached. In turn, this makes it more judicious for individuals to seek professional advice. Our advisors are more than happy to explain the rules and options to you, at our expense. Pre-retirement we will help you plan for growth. Post-retirement we’ll concentrate on making your pension last as long as you do! This means we may need to adjust risks in the run-up to retirement and review risks afterwards. You’re in control all the way, with us to guide you. 4. Tax Planning By guiding you through tax planning we may save you significant sums today and your eventual inheritors in the future. Our financial advisers can help you minimise taxes and maximise benefits, including:
5. Associated Specialists - Hassle-free solutions for you Over the years, our advisers have formed trusted, long-term relationships with other professionals who can ‘complete the financial picture’ for you, if you wish, giving you easy access to other specialists such as accountants, solicitors and mortgage advisors. It’s entirely up to you – we’re equally happy to work alongside your existing advisors. We understand that financial planning can be a little baffling and a ‘tomorrow’ job. We also know from experience that, once you have it sorted and under control, you’ll feel a lot more comfortable. |
